Sonakshi Sinha, who has been shooting in Hyderabad for Lingaa is excited about working with superstar Rajinikanth. “Rajinikanth had worked with my dad, and so I have different feelings for him. He treats me like his daughter. It was indeed a pleasure to be working with him. He is so grounded and I shared a great rapport with him. He would always say, ‘I have worked with your dad… and now working with you feels nice’. Rajinikanth is very humble to one and all on the sets.”
Talking about his daughter Soundarya, Sonakshi adds, “Like father, like daughter. She is a soft-spoken person. Working with them was a totally different trip. They made me feel very comfortable and kept my spirits high. Not only me, but everyone will agree that they kept the atmosphere very light and happening.”
About shooting in the city, she says, “I was busy shooting day in and day out. But I would go to the gym every morning as well in the evening… I had nothing else to do after my shooting schedule. Hence, I have lost a lot of weight. Also, I would eat very less as I was on a diet.”
So, did she make any friends in Tollywood? “No, I did not meet people from the Tollywood industry as we were busy shooting. And after the day’s work, I would take a little bit of rest to research the next day’s schedule. It was an hectic and interesting schedule.
“If producers or directors from South approach me I will surely meet them. Working for South films? Why not? Acting is my passion and if I get good roles, I shall surely work here,” she adds. And though she did not have time to go around the city, she is not complaining.
“I keep coming to Hyderabad; it is my favourite city. I have seen a few places out here. Next time when I am here I will make sure that I visit my favourite eatery joints. However on this trip, I did relish the Hyderabad food, especially the biryani. Also, Hyderabadis are really very good hosts,” she says.
Sonakshi adds that she would like to play the role of athlete P.T. Usha in a biopic. “Given a chance I would love to do a sporty character. I would love to play P.T. Usha,” she says. About her look in the Honey Singh album that has become the rage, she adds, “I think the look suits me and so I decided to go ahead with it. Honey Singh is a very light-hearted, yet a sincere and hard working person. I enjoyed working with him, it was fun.”
After Akshay Kumar and Honey Singh, Sonakshi has become the third celebrity to own a kabaddi team in the World Kabaddi League and that is keeping her busy. “Though I am busy working in films as I am committed to them, I shall also keep my commitments to kabaddi. I will give my best to both my passions, acting and sport.”
