Hyderabad: The AP government has received the Centre’s go-ahead to sell red sanders via e-auction through global tenders, which will be notified in a week’s time.
Also, a new research centre for the exclusive study of red sanders will be set up in Tirupati, informed Mr Bojjala Gopalkrishna Reddy, minister for forest and environment, AP.
The projected revenue for the first phase of auction, of 4,000 tonnes, is over Rs 1,000 crore.
