Ex-Bihar minister’s son lynched for stealing car
Rajiv Sahni was a member of an organised gang of vehicle-lifters
Samastipur: Former Bihar minister Ramashray Sahni’s son, Rajiv, 37, was lynched by a mob and his accomplice, Rajaram Kewat, was injured for allegedly stealing a vehicle in Samastipur district.
The incident took place on Saturday night when Mr Rajiv and his accomplice were allegedly stealing a pick-up van in Asimchak village, police said.
Mr Kewat is in an unconscious state.
Mr Rajiv had been jailed for similar crimes in the past, police said, adding that he was a member of an organised gang of vehicle-lifters.
Mr Ramashray Sahni, who was the animal husbandry minister in the Rashtriya Janata Dal government and is presently its district unit president, said he would speak on the incident after identifying the body.
