Pakistan violates ceasefire again

Border Security Force forward post targeted by Pakistani troops again

Srinagar: Pakistani troops on Saturday again violated the November 2003 ceasefire agreement by targeting a Border Security Force forward post along the International Border in J&K’s Arnia sector.

Jammu officials said the Pakistani troops fired small arms at the BSF’s Stop-2 (Pindi) post along the IB called ‘working boundary’ by Islamabad. The BSF retaliated to the Pakistani “unprovoked firing” and that no casualties were reported.

The Indian allegation on which Pakistan has to react came on a day when Army chief General Bikram Singh arrived in Srinagar on a two-day farewell visit. He will seize the opportunity to review the security situation along the IB.
