Andhra Pradesh staff to get health cards

The government would issue health cards to employees and pensioners from August 15

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, announced here on Saturday that the government would issue health cards to employees and pensioners from August 15. Addressing an APNGOs meeting here, Mr Naidu said that the government would soon issue orders on this issue in keeping with the announcement.

Mr Naidu also promised that the government will review ACB cases and change policies for solving them early. But he first said that he would not allow corruption to thrive. The Chief Minister also said that the would withdraw all the cases registered during the Samaikyandhra agitation. He assured the non-gazetted officers that the entire period would be treated as leave and a Cabinet subcommittee would be appointed soon for solving the employees’ problems.

The government would conduct meetings with APNGOs every three months, he added. He also asked the employees not to get embroiled in unnecessary controversies with Telangana employees and, at the same time, need not be apprehensive of living in Hyderabad.

He said that the division has created disputes among the people but it just a passing phase. He asked the employees to extend cooperation for, without their cooperation, he could not be able to do anything to establish the new capital and implement new development schemes. He said that presently there is a Rs 15,000-crore fiscal deficit. However, it would solve the employees’ problems in a phased manner. The government also would pursue the regularisation of contract employees’ service.

The APNGOS Asso-ciation announced Rs 70 crore as donation for the AP government. APNGOs Association president P. Ashok Babu said that they would donate one day’s salary for Arogyasri, old age pensions and fees reimbursement. He said the staff was willing to work in AP.
