Hyderabad: A day after a Mumbai model approached the Gopalapuram police, alleging that she was drugged and robbed, the North Zone task force police nabbed the accused on Friday and handed him over to the Gopalapuram police. However, the local police said that suspects in the case are being questioned and nobody has been taken into custody yet.
According to reliable sources, accused Preet Singh, who is a small-time choreographer and acts as an agent, promises women roles in Tollywood films. He contacts the victims online with his associate Jitu, who is a broker. When the victims get in touch with him, he asks them to come to the city, lays a trap and forces them into prostitution. “He was earlier involved in cases of human trafficking. However, this time, the victim found out about his intentions and approached the police,” a source from the task force said.
The 25-year-old victim, Subra Datta, from Andheri came to the city on July 4. She was first kept in a house for a couple of days and later at a hotel in Karkhana. The accused stole Rs 19,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 70,000 from the victim.
