Cyclonic circulation over bay, rains likely in Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam: A cyclonic circulation now lies over north-west Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal. It extends above the sea level tilting south-west.
Under the influence of this cyclonic circulation, a low-pressure area may develop over the same area over the next 48 hours.
Southwest monsoon has been active over Rayalaseema. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rains may lash one or two places in Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Krishna districts of Andhra Pradesh as well as Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Warangal and Khammam districts of Telangana in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, significant rainfall occurred in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Kurnool, Anantapur, Chittoor, Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad in the past 24 hours.
