Why did Arun Jaitley take a 5-minute break while presenting the Union Budget?

New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley broke away from tradition when he presented the much-anticipated Union Budget on Thursday.
Jaitley took a break in the middle of his speech due to a severe back pain. After the break he read out his speech sitting.
The Lok Sabha briefly adjourned at 11.47 am, after Jaitley asked for a break from Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
This was the first time a finance minister paused during the budget speech.
Jaitley is diabetic and is known to suffer from backaches. His budget lasted for over two hours.
During his speech, Jaitley said the prevailing economic situation presents a great challenge and there was a need to introduce fiscal prudence that will lead to fiscal consolidation and discipline.
"Difficult as it may appear, I have decide to accept this target as a challenge," he said.
Outlining the roadmap for fiscal consolidation, Jaitley said fiscal deficit would be brought down to 3.6 per cent in 2015-16 and 3 per cent by 2016-17.
