Priyanka Chopra to turn playback singer for 'Mary Kom'
The song is a full-fledged one and the director is already all praise for the song
Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra, who revealed her music talents to the world not too long ago, will turn playback singer for her upcoming film 'Mary Kom'. Her decision to sing for a Bollywood film is a big move, as it was believed that as per her contract for the international singles, she wasn’t allowed to sing elsewhere.
An insider says, “Priyanka was itching to sing in a Bollywood film but her previous films didn’t require her to sing. However, in Mary Kom, an important sequence has worked out very well and she will be singing for the same.” Directed by Omung Kumar, a major part of the film’s shoot is already done.
In an earlier interaction, Priyanka had said, “I would love to do playback singing and I plan to do that in my upcoming films. All my singles are in English but I really want to sing Hindi songs as well. We are trying to work something out and you will soon hear it.”

Recently, Alia Bhatt sung the unplugged version of 'Samjhawan' and Shraddha Kapoor crooned 'Galiyan' for 'Ek Villain'. PC in the past had lent her voice to Rohan Sippy’s 'Bluffmaster' in the song 'Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai'. She had sung only one line in that song: “I’m a bad girl.” But the song in Mary Kom will be a full-fledged one and the director is already all praise for the song.
Well… we are all ears PC.
We sent a text message to Omung but he was unavailable for a comment.
