RSS leaders Ram Madhav, Shiv Prakash to be with BJP shortly

BJP seeks to revamp before the assembly elections due in Maharashtra, Haryana, J&K

New Delhi: RSS leader and co-incharge of its media and public relations Ram Madhav has been deputed by the Sangh to work in the BJP. He is expected to be given a role by the new party chief whose name is expected to be announced soon.

Another RSS leader, Shiv Prakash, the regional pracharak of the RSS in western Uttar Pradesh, has also been deputed by the Sangh to work for the party. The two RSS leaders are likely to find a prominent place in the reorganised BJP.

Mr Madhav said he would “join BJP” and is looking forward to a new role in the party.

The Sangh, the ideological mentor of the BJP, had earlier too deputed many of its leaders from time to time, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had been a full-time RSS pracharak (organiser), in the party.

Sources said Mr Madhav, who also actively participated in the BJP’s Lok Sabha election campaign, is likely to be one of the new BJP general secretaries in the party set up proposed to be reorganised after the government formation as several party leaders have joined the ministerial council of Mr Modi.

The party seeks to revamp itself ahead of the Assembly elections due in states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand later this year and early next year.
