K Taraka Rama Rao hits out at Chandrababu Naidu for interference
Hyderabad: IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao said the A.P. Reorganisation Bill was very clear on Hyderabad. “Territorially, historically and culturally, Hyderabad belongs to Telangana. Its revenues go to Telangana. Why is Mr Naidu trying to meddle with Hyderabad? He seems to have a hangover of being the CM of the combined state,” he said.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a workshop for ministers and officials at MCRHRD, Mr Rama Rao asserted that any tampering with the status of Hyderabad was not acceptable to Telangana.
Stating that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, had been the Chief Minister of Gujarat and knew Centre-state relationships and rights, Mr Rama rao said that he was confident that Mr Modi would not do anything, which would infringe on the state’s rights.
About Andhra Pradesh CM Mr Chandrababu Naidu’s objection to the demolitions in Ayyappa Society in Gurukul Trust lands, Mr Rao said, “I am really surprised at Mr Naidu’s objections over the demolitions. How can we regularise irregular lands? I don’t know whether Mr Naidu or his relatives have buildings on Gurukul Trust lands. Does he have benami properties? First of all, why should he be in Hyderabad after bifurcation of the state? We will implement the law. Whether it’s Nagarjuna or me, the rule applies equally,” he remarked.
“Mr Naidu, instead of supporting the good work done by KCR Garu, is indulging in unnecessary criticism,” he added. “We will not spare land grabbers and criminals whether they are from Telangana or Pakistan. Law will take its own course.”
KTR also said that the Centre should seriously look into the requests of the state government for special status and ensure a special package for the new state.
