Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn will be seen on the same screen
Mumbai: Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh are not the best of friends in the industry and generally avoid coming in each other's way. However, Rohit Shetty, who recently gave a blockbuster with Shah Rukh in Chennai Express and is currently wrapping up Singham Returns with Ajay Devgn, has managed to do the unthinkable.
The trailer of Farah Khan's Happy New Year will be attached to Singham Returns, which is releasing on August 15. Attaching your promo with a film is generally done on request and the maker in question agrees to attach a promo mostly on the basis of personal equation. The case is different if two films are being released by the same studio, for instance the trailer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan was attached with Ek Tha Tiger as both were produced by Yash Raj Films even though Shah Rukh and Salman were at war with each other, much, much before the recent Iftar hug.
Rohit Shetty, who today, is no longer in an awkward situation working with Ajay and Shah Rukh in his respective projects, can be credited for calling a truce between the two. Otherwise, why would Shah Rukh all of a sudden walk in on Ajay's film set? Last month SRK dropped by on the sets of Rohit Shetty's Singham Returns and embraced Ajay like a long lost friend, during one of his shoots in Mumbai.
A few years back, Sajid Nadiadwala had refused to attach the promo of Break Ke Baad with his Ranbir starrer Anjaana Anjaani. Afterwards, the makers of Break Ke Baad released the trailer directly in the theatres.
But pushing all the controversies aside, August 15 seems to be a great day for film lovers. Not only will they get to see Ajay Devgn as their favourite tough cop, a man on a mission in Singham Returns, they’ll also get to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone together again in the trailer of Happy New Year.
