West Bengal won’t reply to Union Home Ministry on Tapas Pal

Chief Minister has directed not to give any reply to MHA

Kolkata: The West Bengal government has ruled out the possibility of replying to a report sought by the Union home ministry on the statement made by Trinamul Congress MP Tapas Pal.

Citing that law and order comes under the state government, it is not necessary to give a report to the Centre, Nabanna sources said. It may be recalled after the video clip of Mr Pal went viral, the Union home ministry had sought a report on the whole incident and the action taken by the state government following it.

However, according to sources, the Chief Minister has directed not to give any reply to MHA. Sources also said that the state is not likely to take any action against Mr Pal.
