Missing realtor found dead

Kin alleges murder, want another realtor held

Hyderabad: Realtor Venkat Reddy who was missing since five days was found dead under suspicious circumstances at an isolated place in Brahmannapalli on Sunday. His body was found burnt and was in a highly decomposed state.

Though cops suspect it to be a suspicious death, the victim’s family says that it was murder. Cops may change the missing case to murder. Meanwhile, the police recovered a suicide note which held Vanasthalipuram inspector P. Gopala Krishna Murthy responsible for the death.

On Sunday morning, locals who detected a foul smell alerted the police. The cops reached the spot and identified the body which was half eaten by dogs. “One leg was eaten by dogs, and we identified the victim after seeing his other leg which had a surgical rod,” the police said.

According to the police, Venkat Reddy acted as a mediator in selling a plot recently which was double registered. Since then, he had disputes with S. Ganesh Reddy, another realtor who sold the plot. The buyer of the plot started mounting pressure on Venkat Reddy to refund the money and he couldn’t.

He went missing since last Wednesday and a missing case was also registered by the Vanasthalipuram police. During investigation, police found a suicide note which named Ganesh Reddy, and the inspector, and held them responsible for his death.

“It is too premature to conclude whether it’s a suicide or a murder. We suspect it to be a suicide, but we can’t rule out the murder angle. The victim had consumed liquor along with some others at the spot. The incident could have occurred later,” said Mr L. Anand Bhaskar, ACP, Vanasthalipuram division.

Cops have launched a manhunt to trace the accused. The victim’s family protested on Sagar highway and demanded that Ganesh Reddy be arrested and the Vanasthalipuram inspector suspended.
