Riteish hikes fee after Ek Villain?
Mumbai: With Ek Villain earning a cool Rs 85 crore at the box office, we can tell you that the much-appreciated “villain” of the piece, Riteish Deshmukh, is considering hiking his fee.
“Having built a career out of doing comedies (and achieving a couple of blockbusters in the form of Housefull 2 and Grand Masti), Riteish is firmly in the big league now,” says one trade analyst, explaining why Riteish’s “market value” has seen a surge.
So is Riteish reconsidering his remuneration? “See, I have worked with good producers who have paid me really well,” the actor says when we put the query to him. “Even for my future films, I am working with good producers. I don’t think remuneration is key for the actors when it comes to choosing films. As for me in particular, I am comfortable with what I am getting. No complaints.”
But money aside, is he happy with his newfound status? “After Ek Villain, people are saying that I am not a bad actor when it comes to any kind of genre. It feels good for sure,” Riteish says, with a smile.
