Akhilesh Yadav asks officers to use social media

Lucknow: After facing a rout in elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav seems to have realised the importance of social media in today’s politics and has now decided to reach out to the people through Facebook and Twitter.

UP chief secretary Alok Ranjan has asked all government departmental heads at a meeting for ‘Publicity through Social Media’ to provide information regarding decisions taken on welfare schemes and other achievements of the state government though the social media. The chief secretary said all principal secretaries had been asked to nominate a nodal officer in respective departments for social media.
