Mumbai: Sukhwinder Singh is the latest to be eliminated from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The singer wasn’t known to be a good dancer but the judges were all praise for the improvement he showed over the weeks. However, he isn’t disappointed by the elimination. “I have received a lot of appreciation for my performance on the show. I must give my choreographer Bhavna credit for making a ‘non-dancer’ do so well. Everyone was flabbergasted by my last performance on the show,” he says.
So does he plan to continue with his dancing lessons though he is out? The singer says, “This experience will definitely help with my stage performances. I plan to add more dance movements to my shows hereon.”
When asked about how his colleagues from the singing fraternity reacted to his performances, he says, “Everyone has been appreciative and encouraging. Though I have never danced so much, I realised that dancing is connected to my profession (singing), because I was surrounded by music all day. Here, I was dancing daily for the last two months along with juggling my singing commitments.”
The singer also thanks his fans for voting and making sure he stayed in the show for a while. He says, “It is due to their votes I survived so long and even when I was eliminated, on social media I received messages saying ‘Koi baat nahi party karenge’!”
So where will we see Sukhwinder next? “I have many projects coming up and you will also see me in some films as part of song sequences as the directors and producers suggested I make an appearance,” he replies.
