Chennai: Dhanush, who is shooting for his Bollywood film, Shamitabh, must be a happy man as his much-awaited film, Vela Illa Pattathari, is now all set to hit the screens on July 18. It is being touted to be one of the biggest releases of his career.
The release was delayed for a long time and there was even talk in tinsel town of the film not being bought by anyone. Escape Artists, who are releasing the film in more than 400 screens across the state, dismiss such speculations. Madhan of Escape Artists says, “The film is a mass commercial entertainer. It’s in typical Dhanush style, which people will have missed savouring for a long time. I am planning to even hold the theatres for two consecutive weeks after its release.”
He reveals that Dhanush plays a youngster who is unemployed after getting a degree in civil engineering. Amala Paul, who recently married A.L. Vijay, plays the female lead.
