Goa Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo gets the NDA nudge, quits
Wanchoo is the fifth UPA government appointee to quit Raj Bhavan
New Delhi: Goa governor B.V. Wanchoo on Friday submitted his resignation making him the fifth UPA government appointee to quit Raj Bhavan.
On Friday, the government also carried out a series of meetings trying to finalise its plans for replacing the governors appointed during the previous UPA rule and filling up the existing vacancies.
Mr Wanchoo’s resignation has taken the list of vacancies to seven. While additional charges of the Raj Bhavans are being given to serving governors, MHA sources said the move is temporary and full-term appointments are likely to be made as soon as the government finalises the list.
