Close watch on illegal buildings in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Obtaining an occupancy certificate (OC) is mandatory as without it water and electricity connection will not be provided. With regard to the Gurukul Trust land, the Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy collectorates, the Water Board and GHMC are preparing a consolidated report on illegal constructions and will submit it to the government to initiate further action.
Somesh Kumar, commissioner of GHMC, said a survey on how many building permissions have been granted and why the people have not obtained the OC will be conducted. GHMC is also verifying whether the completed buildings have been assessed for property tax. Every person who is applying for the building permission must also obtain the OC. At Gurukul Trust land many buyers have obtained permissions through court orders and some have started construction as the matter is pending in the court.
