Two nabbed for double murder in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Habeebnagar police has nabbed two persons on Friday in connection with a double murder. The murders occurred about two months ago.
The accused are Allu Achyutha Kumar, 24, a worker at Alhamdulillah Hotel in Nampally, and a native of Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, and Uday, 33, a worker at the Pasha Bhai tent house and caterings at Jubilee Hall, Public Gardens. Uday belongs to West Bengal.
Police said that on April 27, one Mr Nageshwar Rao lodged a complaint saying that a man and a woman were murdered in his house. Following a foul smell, the door of the house was broken open and their bodies were found in a bag. There was also a boulder with blood stains beside their bodies. A case was registered.
During the investigation, the police identified the murdered people as Siraj and Sunitha. The killers were nabbed at the Public Gardens and during interrogation, it was revealed that Achyutha Kumar was well acquainted with Sunitha and used to bring her to his room frequently. Eventually, she started blackmailing him for money.
“She demanded about Rs 10,000, failing which she threatened to kill Achyutha Kumar. On the day of the murder she came to his room along with Siraj. They consumed alcohol and she again demanded money. They had an argument,” said Mr V. Satyanarayana, the DCP of West Zone.
After Siraj and Sunitha fell asleep, Achyutha Kumar attacked them with a boulder. He hit them many times on their heads, killing them instantly. He brought jute bags and put the bodies in them. Though he tried to dispose them off, he could not, police said.
“He left the bodies in the room, locked it and went to Uday and narrated the facts to him. They fled to Pune to escape the police,” the official said.
The killers were presented in court and were sent to judicial custody.
