Mumbai: Rumours of Barkha Dutt resigning from NDTV surfaced on Friday when a leading news channel ran a speculative story about the senior journalist planning to end her long-term association with NDTV.
Dutt later rubbished the rumours on Twitter saying that, “Sahara story entirely speculative; they've not spoken to me.If there's ever any news at my end, you will hear it from me.”
According to the reports by the channel, Dutt was planning to join as the Editor-in-Chief of CNN-IBN, post the resignation of Sagarika Ghose, deputy editor of the channel. The channel belongs to the media conglomerate, Network 18.
Reliance Industries Ltd announced earlier that it would pay Rs 4,000 crore to take complete control of the Network 18 group, the company founded by Raghav Bahl in 1993. This is biggest takeover in the media industry till date.
Rajdeep Sardesai is also rumoured to be on the verge of quitting the channel and the Network18 group. Though, there has been no clarification on the same.
