Hyderabad: Congress President Sonia Gandhi seems to have told Telangana and AP leaders that she is not worried about some leaders quitting the party, and asked them to induct new le-aders and youth into the party.
Mrs Gandhi also reportedly told them that she will revamp party units soon to take on the challenges being faced by the party units in the two states.
As part of an exercise undertaken by the AICC to find reasons for the poor show of the party in the recently concluded general elections, a committee headed by A.K. Antony on Wednesday held detailed discussions with leaders from both the states separately.
Palvai Govardhana Reddy and V. Hanumantha Rao met Mrs Gandhi individually and briefed her about the current political situation in the state.
Telangana leaders also told the Committee that over confidence, internal rivalries and the emergence of the TRS as a formidable opponent were res-ponsible for the Congress de-bacle even though statehood was granted by the Congress.
