Sunanda Pushkar death: Doctor changes stand, says his reports were bonafide
New Delhi: Dr Sudhir Gupta, who had alleged that Sunanda Pushkar's autopsy report was doctored, changed stand and said on Thursday that Sunanda Pushkar's postmortem report was based on principles and norms of medical ethics.
Gupta further said, "If you want my version, let me take the permission of the competent authority of AIIMS, because this is a serious legal issue. I want to clarify, not only post mortem of Sunanda Pushkar, any postmortem report prepared by me are based on ethics laid by the medicine. They are best on principles and practice of medicine."
Dr. Sudhir Gupta had earlier alleged that he was pressured to give a doctored report in Pushkar's death case.

Gupta headed the team of experts who conducted the postmortem on Pushkar's body and had alleged that he was pressured by top officials to show that Pushkar's death was 'natural'.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) however, denied that there was any pressure on Dr. Sudhir Gupta to present a doctored post mortem report.
"These allegations are baseless. Dr. Sudhir Gupta and his team had no pressure to change postmortem report," said Dr. Amit Gupta, AIIMS Public Relations Officer.

Simultaneously, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor demanded a speedy and transparent probe into his wife’s death to “put an end to wild speculation”.
Former Union minister issued a two-paragraph statement on Wednesday, which he later shared on Facebook.
Reportedly, Tharoor said in the statement, “From the beginning itself, I requested for a thorough investigation. It would be conducted and concluded rapidly and transparently. The Pushkar family has also taken the same view and we all cooperated with the authorities well. I reiterate my request to bring this protracted inquiry to a clear and definite conclusion so as to put all speculations to rest.”
