Positive response to Andhra Pradesh land policy

Gov. got positive response over its proposal to acquire land in the 60 to 40 ratio

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Wednesday said the government has been getting positive response from farmers and private land owners over its proposal to acquire land in the 60 to 40 ratio for development of capital city and smart cities.

On Wednesday Mr Krishnamurthy said land acquisition was an issue staring at the government but response to the 60:40 proposal has been “very encouraging.”

He explained the government is looking to solve the issue of non-availability of the large portions of land through this proposal. The logic behind this proposal is that the returns, the land owner will get on his 40 per cent, would be multiple times higher after the development of the capital and smart cities.

Mr Krishnamurthy also said that the government had identified land for development of facilities suiting smart cities and was actively pushing it ahead. However, he said the government’s primary concern now was the farm loan waiver and then comes the capital.

“We are thinking about farm loan waiver at this moment. Out next priority are the white papers and then the capital,” he said
