Ness Wadia says Preity Zinta's complaint is false
Mumbai: In his defence, industrialist Ness Wadia on Wednesday submitted a list of nine persons to the Marine Drive police whom he requested be quizzed by the police as witnesses with a view to support his version of the events. He also said the FIR filed against him by estranged girlfriend Preity Zinta was “false”.
The police has said Mr Wadia would be questioned in the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, Preity Zinta defended the registering of the case and on her Facebook page refuted reports that the step was taken out of jealousy or for money and publicity.
In a letter addressed to the investigating officer PI Dharkar, and DCP (Zone 1) Ravindra Shisve, Mr Wadia said, “We are hereby providing a list of persons who were present at the Kings Eleven match at Wankhede Stadium on May 30. We believe these persons... would be able to provide independent and truthful facts... on the stadium at that evening with regard to the false complaint filed by Preity Zinta against me.”
The persons named by him in the letter are Serieka Lal, Loretta Joseph, Pooja Dadlani, Anneline Adams, Farah Oomerbhoy, Sweetie Burman, Kamlesh Shah, Rayaan Mustapha and Sharath Nath.
