Mumbai: If Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya appears to be all fun and frolic then think again. Even as Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt engage in playful banter, there seems to be a grim side to the story. Insiders inform that the film has an angle of honour killing.
“It’s not on the forefront, but it’s there,” informs our source, adding, “While the film has its base in Delhi, it also goes into the interiors of Punjab, where things get a little serious.” When contacted, understandably Varun Dhawan didn’t want to reveal much. “It’s a performance-oriented part for me. There’s more to it than fun. I have some good scenes with Ashutosh Rana and because he is so intense, it was a challenge for me. But we have made sure that there is some drama but no melodrama.”
