Hyderabad: “I was not allowed to enter the legislature premises to submit a memorandum during the Telangana movement, today we are in ruling and I am contesting for the Legislative Council chairman post. It’s a memorable day,” said Swami Goud, the TRS MLC and party nominee for the Legislative Council Chairman post.
“I may win with cooperation from all. This is the greatness of democracy,” Mr Swami Goud said after filing his nomination papers.
Mr Swami Goud, who headed the TNGOs during the peak of Telangana movement and latter became MLC thanks to KCR, said he would strive for the development of Telangana and welfare of people.
“Now I am representative of TRS political party. After my election as chairman of the Legislative Council, I will be apolitical. I have to treat everyone equally. Everyone should contribute their mite for the development of Telangana,” he remarked.
He thanked Chief Minister, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao for instilling confidence in him and for nominating him for Legislative Council Chair-man post.
