'Ek Villain' will open door to play dark roles: Riteish Deshmukh
Mumbai: After portraying a grey character in his latest release 'Ek Villain', actor Riteish Deshmukh expressed hopes that the film will open doors for him to play more such roles.
The actor, known for his comedy films, was seen in a dark character of 'Rakesh Mahadkar' in the romantic thriller.
"'Ek Villain' is an important one, because a film where I played a character with a dark shade, works, doors to play such characters opens wider. I hope to do more such roles, besides comedy," Riteish told reporters last night at the press conference, organised on the film's success.
Though he would love to experiment with roles, the actor made it clear that he would continue to do comedy films, which is his forte.
"I will continue doing comedy. I don't think I make choices depending on film's success or failure. I choose on the basis of content and the best ones offered," the 35-year-old actor said.
"Earlier, if I was offered 10 comedy films, I chose to do three. Now, if I get seven comedy and three drama, I will do two comedies and one drama," he said.
