Gas prices hiked by Rupees 16.50 per cylinder
New Delhi: Due to spike in international crude oil prices after civil war in Iraq, price of non-subsidised LPG on Tuesday was hiked by Rs 16.50 per cylinder and ATF by over half-a-per cent.
However, hike in price of non-subsidised LPG is not going to hit consumers any time soon. This is because a house hold gets 12 subsidised LPG cylinders in a fiscal year which is between April 2014 to 31st March 2015. Also for most of the households, 12 subsidised LPG cylinders is enough and they don’t need to buy any non-subsidised LPG cylinder.
The increase in rates of non-subsidised LPG and ATF comes after the Rs 1.69 a litre hike in petrol and 50 paisa a litre in diesel was announced on Monday.
Each non-subsidised 14.2 kg LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 922.50 in Delhi, up from Rs 906. The price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder is based on markets rates and goes up and down.
It had reached a peak of Rs 1,241 per cylinder in January in Delhi and had been coming down since then.
