Salem, Tamil Nadu: A 12-year-old girl student was allegedly raped by father of her classmate on Tuesday at Attur, police said.
The seventh standard student went to her classmate's house on Tuesday morning as they go to school together daily. When the girl reached the house, her classmate's father took her to an isolated place and raped her, Attur All Women Police Inspector Kannan said.
The girl returned her house and narrated about the incident to her parents, who lodged a complaint to police.
The accused was arrested under section 4 of the Child Sexual Harassment Act and produced before a local court and sent to 15 days judicial custody, Kannan said.
