Mumbai: Over the weekend, buzz in telly land was that Shrenu Parikh and Avinash Sachdev of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2 were being more than just co-actors on the sets of the show. When asked about it, Shrenu said, “I believe that after a point ignorance is bliss. Both Avinash and I are hardcore professionals. Yes, we shoot together all day, but we are always in the company of the other co-stars. We even have lunch with the entire unit. My parents trust me, so they won’t fall for such rumours. They know I will never date a guy from the entertainment industry.”
The show has a lot of intimate scenes between the lead pair. Does it at any point get awkward for Shrenu? She says, “I certainly feel nervous, but thankfully the audience does not know what goes on behind the scenes. If they see how we shoot, they will surely laugh. We have around 25 people around us when the director says ‘action’ and have to say our dialogues loud enough for the sound guys to capture it. It’s anything but romantic. I’m so experienced at it now that I can even do a romantic scene with a tree!”
Ask Shrenu about the scenes from the show that she finds most memorable and she says they are the ones that involve fan reactions. “The two suhaag raat scenes are very popular — one in which we fight and Shlok’s (Avinash) real face is revealed. Then there’s another one in which we consummate our marriage.”
While she may look petite onscreen, the actress tells us she’s a big foodie, thanks to her foodie crew. She says, “We eat together and are always picking up yummy stuff from each others’ dabbas. Our producers and directors regularly treat us to pani puri parties on the sets and I just dig in. Recen-tly when I won an award, I treated the cast and crew to biryani. Honestly, we don’t even need a reason to eat.”
