Mumbai: In the world of Bollywood rivalries, one actor who has managed to be friends with peers across camps and factions, is Riteish Deshmukh.
Riteish, however, says his friendships aren’t about “strategising”. “I don’t think it’s very difficult to be friends with my co-actors and colleagues. My equation with them isn’t based on an agenda. Yes, I do prefer to keep away from their issues. I respect their privacy by not getting into their personal zone,” says Riteish, firmly.
Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan are among the actors Riteish counts as friends. “I share a cordial relationship with every actor. I don’t belong to any ‘group’. Probably that’s why I’ve managed to hold my own,” he says.
Riteish also adds that his cordial equations with peers shouldn’t be seen merely as political correctness. “I have immense respect for every actor. But you can be friends with very few. Over the last one year, Saif (Ali Khan) and I have become good friends,” he says.
