Turkey to aid in evacuation of Indian citizens stranded in Iraq
India is planning one of its biggest and toughest rescue operations in recent times
New Delhi: In a significant breakthrough, India managed to get permission from Turkey, Jordan and Syria to carry out operations to rescue and evacuate Indian nationals stranded in Iraq from their soil.
While senior officials are extremely tight lipped on the exact blueprint for the rescue operation, sources confirmed the “response of Iraq’s neighbouring countries has been extremely positive to our requests”.
India is planning one of its biggest and toughest rescue operations in recent times, using sea and land routes.
