Late monsoon causes rice price in Telangana to shoot up
Traders say if there is no improvement, the prices will touch a record high
Hyderabad: A truant southwest monsoon has pushed up price of rice over the past few days. The fine variety of rice has crossed Rs 50 per kg mark in the open market and is likely to nudge Rs 60 soon.
Traders say if there is no improvement, the prices will touch a record high.
While Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao asked civil supplies department officials to open special sales counters at Rythu Bazaars to supply rice at Rs 30 per kg and minimise burden on the common man, the rice millers are refusing to oblige the Chief Minister.
