Esha Gupta all set to work on international project
Mumbai: Esha’s recent film Humshakals may have been criticised but surprisingly, the film has fared well at the BO. The stunning Esha Gupta, who starred in the film, is happy about that the audience liked the film, but wishes her role was longer. And she is now looking forward to an international project.
Esha says, “I have an Indo-British project that I am excited about. We start shooting in August.” The actress admits that being an outsider in the industry, she does have her star-struck moments when she shares screen space with some of her favourite actors.
She reveals, “I have done two movies with Emraan Hashmi and he isn’t the type who opens up easily. Working with such a big star in my debut was definitely a high for me. My biggest star-struck moment was when I worked with Bipasha Basu. I saw her on the sets and kept asking my make-up artist whether I should approach her or not, I was like a nervous fan. Working with Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol and Prakash Jha taught me the importance of rehearsals. Saif is a superstar and now I can proudly say I have worked with one of the Khans.”
While most people pay more attention to Esha’s looks is it a disadvantage as her performance is overshadowed? Esha says, “Yes, it is. I wish filmmakers offered me more challenging roles. I’m offered glamorous roles, though in real life I’m quite tomboyish. “Sadly, actors tend to get slotted in an image and people don’t believe the same actor can play two drastically different parts.”
