PIL to re-conduct elections to the MPTCs and ZPTCs in Khammam district

Hyderabad: A Public Interest Litigation has been moved before the Hyderabad High Court seeking to direct the Telangana government and State Election Commission to re-conduct elections to the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) in Khammam district after finalising the reservation of new state as a unit.
V. Narayan Rao, MPTC member of Konijerla mandal, Khammam district, contended that it was necessary to comply with the rules of the reservations and re-election has to be conducted for MPTCs and ZPTCs.
