Nagarjuna to receive civic notice
Hyderabad: The GHMC will issue notices to the management of N-Convention, which is built on 10 acres, as it encroaches around 1.12 acres of full tank level and two acres in the buffer zone of Thammidi Kunta lake. N-Convention is owned by actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. The FTL marking taken up by the GHMC revealed encroachment of 3.12 acres.
The FTL and buffer zone marking was fixed at Thammidi Kunta with the joint team of irrigation, GHMC and revenue officials. As per the executive engineer (North Tank Division) the FTL area of Thammidi Kunta is 29.24 acres. The encroachments by N-Convention (around 1.12 acres in FTL and two acres in buffer zone), heaps of boulders and formation of a ring road was observed. The civic authorities said, so far no notices have been served in this regard to N-Convention.
Somesh Kumar, commissioner GHMC, said, “The N-Convention management does not have a stay order. In 2010, the court issued a letter asking the management to follow the procedure of law. The entire encroached part will be studied in detail and notices will be issued as per law.
Further action will be initiated as per the Hyderabad Municipal Act, 1955. Earlier, the convention management had applied for regularisation of the construction under the building penalisation scheme, but the application was rejected. The the management had then approached the High Court.
