Labour department officials told to prepare modalities
Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, who also holds the portfolio of labour, was asked to take measures to change the name boards at the earliest.
Mr Reddy in turn directed labour department officials to prepare modalities for the purpose. He asked them to draft a file in this regard at the earliest, which would be sent to the CM for approval. Once the CM approved it, a GO would be issued in which the deadlines to change the name boards and penalties on violators would be mentioned clearly.
The CM was reportedly upset with the absence of Telangana name boards even in the Secretariat, despite the administration functioning from June 2. On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat’s name board has been set up in a grand manner.
Ironically, even the official portal of the “Government of Telangana” continues to flash websites of various government departments under AP’s name, which also exist on the AP government’s website. Interestingly, the Osmania University, which was the hotbed of the T-agitation, continues to display AP in it’s “contact us” link.
Facebook too has not updated the change in the home state of Hyderabad as it continues to show “Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh” instead of “Hyderabad, Telangana”.
Though the Telangana IT&C department took up the issue with managements of social networking websites on June 6, they are yet to make the changes.
