I can’t teach people much: Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti Chopra who made an entry into films not so long ago, will now be seen as a mentor to wanna-be actors on Zee TV’s new show India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. Talking about what she can bring to the table, the actress says, “I cannot ‘teach’ people much because I’m not experienced enough, but as a friend I can tell people about what they could do better. People don’t know how scenes are shot on the sets. They think it’s like it happens on stage but it’s not. I will be sharing my personal experiences with them.”
Who does Parineeti personally look up to? “Aditya Chopra and director Maneesh Sharma,” she’s quick to reply. “Since I started my career with them, we have a great rapport — much like Sidharth-Varun have a great friend in Karan Johar. Maneesh Sharma is my mentor — he spotted me. I also look up to Aditya Chopra. I call them in the middle of the night and ask them anything.”
The actress is excited about her upcoming project, particularly one featuring her all-time idol Saif Ali Khan. “Yes, I am doing a film with Saif and it will be directed by Dinesh Vijayan, but I can’t speak much but it right now.”
Saif’s daughter Sara recently confessed that she is a fan of Parineeti. A flattered Pari says, “Sara said some sweet things about me. We should meet and talk about Saif because everyone knows I am a big Saif fan!”
While she has had a great run in the industry so far, Pari believes that one should have a plan B. “Everybody should have a backup plan because few people are lucky enough to get a film without struggle. I’m a banker so the day people get bored of me, I’ll go back to banking,” she says.
