Scanning while on the road
Portronics has launched the latest in its family of portable scanners -- Scanny 7. It's a handy tool for those who need to scan photos, documents, receipts, news clips while travelling. The cordless device stores the images on a microSD card and gives you the choice of saving the image as a picture (jpeg) or document (PDF) at resolutions from 300 to 1200 dots per inch. A USB port enables you to transfer the scans to phone, laptop or thumb-drive.
For those who might have used earlier models, there is a difference between this one and Scanny 6: You don't have to drag the scanner across the document -- always dicey to do it at constant speed! Here it automatically pulls your sheet through and makes a digital copy in seconds. Cost: Rs 7,499.
