Hyderabad: Mahbubnagar district will get representation in the next cabinet expansion. IT and panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao assured people of Mahbubnagar district, while inaugurating a Rs 22 crore road over bridge at Appannapally near Mahbubnagar town on Thursday.
At present there is no representation from Mahbubnagar and Khammam districts in the K. Chandrasekhar Rao Cabinet. Mr Rama Rao’s comment assumes significance since Cabinet expansion is pending and the CM can induct another six ministers.
Stating that Mahbubnagar district was the most neglected in undivided Andhra Pradesh, the IT minister assured that the CM, who represented it as MP, was fully aware of its needs, especially development.
The Telangana CM was indebted to people for their support all through. He has now become Chief Minister and he would do everything for the development of the district by setting up new industries and completion of pending irrigation projects, Mr Rama Rao said.
Promising to end the perennial drinking water problem in Mahaubnagar town with alternate day supply as against the present fortnightly supply of water, Rao said the government would take up the Koilasagar and Ramanpadu schemes on a war footing to meet the drinking water needs of the people.
"We will check migration of Palamuru labour. Like Jurala to Pakala in Warangal district through canals and a tunnel will come up to ensure water for irrigation to one lakh acres in Mahabubnagar besides meeting the water requirements of Nalgonda and Warangal districts. Another project near Kondurg will ensure water to Hyderabad city," he added.
The IT minister also promised to construct a four-lane highway from Jadcherla to Mahabubnagar. MP from Mahabubnagar, Mr Jitender Reddy, MLAs, Mr Srinivas Goud, Mr Laxma Reddy, Mr Anjaiah and former MP, Dr Manda Jagannadham were present at the inauguration.
