Dehradun: The ruling Congress in Uttarakhand on Friday announced its candidates for the three Assembly seats in the hill state where bypolls are slated to be held next month.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat will contest from Dharchula seat, Hira Singh Bisht from Doiwala and Rekha Arya, who joined the party just a couple of days back, from Someshwar, a PCC press release here said. The Assembly bypolls are scheduled to be held on July 21.
The announcement was made after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi put her seal of approval on their candidature, senior party leader Jot Singh Bisht said.
