Opening of wine shops stayed in Khammam district

Liquor shops in temple town of Bhadrachalam opposed

Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Ramamohan Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday granted interim direction by staying the establishment of wine shops in temple town of Bhadrachalam of Khammam district.

The judge was dealing with a plea moved by Murla Ramesh a resident Bhadrachalam seeking court direction to stop all further proceedings following the notification of the district collector, to allocate shops in Bhadrachalam town to Ponnam Ashok Goud.

While issuing the notices to the respondents, the judge granted stay on all further proceedings till further orders.

In another petition, the judge granted stay on allocations of six shops in Bandarugudem village of the district.
