Hyderabad: The body of another Beas tragedy victim was recovered on Thursday at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The deceased was identified as N. Jagadish Mudiraj, 20, a student of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. Jagadish was a resident of Rahmathnagar, Jubilee Hills.
The rescue operators have recovered 19 bodies so far. Five bodies of the victims are still missing. Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday ordered the VNR Vignan Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology to pay half of the Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of the students who died. The other half will be paid by the dam authorities who had released the water.
Twenty-four students of the Hyderabad-based engineering college were washed away in the mishap on June 8.
