Sooraj Barjatya drops Alok Nath from his next
Mumbai: The first schedule of Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo kicked off in Karjat earlier this week — it is after 15 years that the director called out “action” to Prem (Salman’s character in all Rajshri films). Despite the deja vu that it created, something was amiss on the sets — Alok Nath’s presence.
The actor has been a part of most Salman-starrer Barjatya films in the past such as Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hai. In fact, the recent memes of the actor where he’s seen as being an overtly traditional babuji were all inspired from these films. He was also a part of Vivah, that didn’t star Salman. Naturally, Barjatya’s decision to drop a key character like Nath surprised people from the industry.
One of Nath’s friends confirmed the news adding, “Every character in the film is well defined with distinct roles. May be Alok Nath didn’t fit the script. There is no bad blood between them. The shooting has started and he is not part of the shoot.”
