Google on the road to race Apple to the car

Will Google Auto be better than Apple’s CarPlay? Only time will tell

The Tech Giant also unveiled Google Auto at the Google I/O keynote. Google wants to put the Android everywhere to make devices seamlessly talk with each other and the user should be able to notice much of a difference.

Apple launched the CarPlay earlier this year, which allows you to plug in your iPhone to the car’s console or built-in display. you can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, listen to music and a lot more by simply speaking to the phone while keeping your hands on the wheel. This makes driving safer, while still keeping you connected.

Google seems to be moving on similar grounds—with the launch of Google Auto, Google says it wants to keep safety in mind. The similar type of console is used in the car where you can connect your Android smartphone and use the car’s display as a second screen for the phone. Using the console and the related buttons on the steering wheel, the Android smartphone can be controlled by keys and voice to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, run apps, play music and a few other things.

Honda, Hyundai and Volvo are one of the first car manufacturers who are going to implement this technology into their cars and the newer models equipped with Google Auto will roll out later this year.
