India's 1983 World Cup victory to be made into film
Mumbai: Thirty one years later, India’s victory in the 1983 Cricket World will be immortalised in a film. Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the Founder of Celebrity Cricket League will be producing a film, reported Times Of India
Vishnu was quoted saying, “It's bizarre that even three decades after that historic victory, we haven't produced a single film that captures the achievement. In many ways, that win was instrumental in turning cricket into a religion in India. I believe it's a story that needs to be told."
Induri is already in touch with the members of the 1983 Indian cricket team, and the project will go on floors next year.

Kapil Dev was also quoted saying, “Like most of my teammates, I am glad that a film is being made on our journey during the 1983 World Cup. It's heartening to see the trend of movies being made on sports, which I am sure will inspire the youth."
