Fresh report on Beas tragedy by July 9
A fresh report has to be filed by the Larji Dam authorities and the college by July 9
Hyderabad: Following the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s orders, that half of the Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of the students who had died in the Beas river mishap must be paid by the VNR Vignan Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, an official of the Telangana revenue department said, “The Larji project has to pay Rs 2.5 lakh and the rest shall be paid by the college. The court also ordered officials of the dam and college authorities who accompanied to be made parties to the case.”
A fresh report has to be filed by the Larji Dam authorities and the college by July 9, the next date of hearing. Meanwhile, search operations to trace eight other bodies are on; 17 bodies have been recovered so far.
