Hyderabad: A techie from Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed his wife and son and committed suicide in his flat at the My Home Hub Apartments in Madhapur. Though the incident happened three days back, neighbours noticed it on Wednesday when foul smell came out of the flat.
While the man, Manish Sao, 36, was found hanging from the ceiling, his wife Shweta Sao, 32, and son Yash Sao, 5, were found dead on the bed. Police suspect that Manish suffocated his son with a pillow and then strangled his wife to death.
Police said that there were problems between Manish and his wife. Manish was an IIT graduate. Police suspect the incident must have occurred on Sunday night. “The bodies were decomposed. Neighbours had not seen the family for three days,” said a police official. Police found an injury on Swetha's wrist, which is suspected to have been inflicted by Manish.
Manish, who was chief products manager at an MNC named IMomentous Inc at Madhapur, used to quarrel with his wife frequently, police said.
“His friends told us the couple used to quarrel frequently due to ego problems. Manish used to go out a lot leaving his wife in the house. Recently their friends tried to patch up the couple,” said SI Satya Narayana. Manish’s colleagues said that he was absent from work since the last three days and could not be contacted.
Manish’s friends said that after graduating from IIT Guwahati, he worked in the US before coming to Hyderabad.
